Happy Birthday, Landen!
I can't believe you're 9 years old today! My how time flies. I didn't know what to do with you the first time I met you. I'd never been around a baby before and thought for sure I would break you. But low and behold, you didn't!
I love that you're a sentimental, artsy, jock. I love that you have a southern accent though you've lived all over the US in your 9 short years. I love how you used to remember practically everything I ever told you and would repeat it back to me randomly months later.
I love that you didn't complain when I put a doo-rag on your head and that you surprisingly didn't make any moves to get it off.
I love that you bawled when I left for Arkansas after spending the entire summer with you in Florida.
But most of all, I simply love you for being you!
Happy Birthday!!

Argh!
I love how life can chug along pretty swimmingly for all intents and purposes, and then all of a sudden a bunch of crappy things pop up over the course of a couple of days. I'm currently experiencing one of those times. My how I was looking forward to the weekend...now I can't wait for it to be over!

Dancing with ABBA
I just got through watching Dancing with the Stars. I don't dance, but I love this show! I think I have an inappropriate crush on Derek Hough. He's such a baby, but he's so cute! My early bets are on Kristy Yamaguchi and Mario, which are easy choices as they had the two best dances, but you never know how things are gonna shape up.
Did you see the extended trailer for Mamma Mia! during the ladies' dance night? I don't know how I feel about this movie yet. I loved it on Broadway, but when I heard they were making a movie this is one of those rare ones where I was like, how are they gonna do that? I just don't know if it's going to translate to the big screen. But I'm hoping I'm totally wrong. I mean, Meryl Streep is starring in it, so it can't be that bad. I just hope it lives up to the fun of the stage show and doesn't come across all cheesy.

The Best Time of the Year

I was just attacked by my car!
I'm not even going to attempt to explain how this happened other than to say it was a sneak attack by my car door. It somehow managed to practically decapitate me. Ok, so that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's definitely about the worst I've been hurt in a long time. I took a picture, but I don't think it does it justice. You can't really tell but the actual wound runs from just below my ear there up to my chin. There's a bright red line ending in the big bruised area you can clearly see. Luckily, when I look in the mirror I can't see it, so it's my hope that if you look at me straight on you can't see it either. It hurts something fierce up under my chin because the door wasn't content with a mere surface wound. It had to jam itself up in there, so I'm left with a throbbing pain in a very weird location. But if you know me, I get weird ailments and such, so this comes as absolutely no surprise.

I feel the need to blog....
I want to be a more consistent blogger, but there's just not that much going on right now. I don't want to bore all 3 (4? 5?) of you with the same details day in and day out.
So here are some random thoughts running through my head:
1) Battlestar Galactica is still frakkin' awesome!
2) I wish I could find another job.
3) The wind outside is freaking me out it's so loud.
4) I should probably go to bed because it's 11:00 now.
5) Eliot Spitzer...sad situation. He says he's sorry, but is he really? Didn't he just say that because he got caught? I feel bad for his wife and kids. I'm impressed that she could stand by him. I know I sure wouldn't have the strength to do that. But I hope he truly is remorseful, and they are able to work through it if that's in God's will.
6) Geraldine Ferraro's comment was not racist, maybe a little ill-advised, but not racist. I gotta say that I kinda agree with her.
7) I could use a vacation, and I've only been working for about a year. Is this what the rest of my life is going to be like?!
8) And finally, a picture of my very good friends' new baby Luke because he's a cutie, and I got to snap some new pics this weekend....

Happy Birthday, Jolee!
So no one went to Jolee's blog and wished her Happy Birthday. That either means A) Jolee has no friends, or B) No one reads my blog. Either way, it's a sad state of affairs!!
But, without further ado, my Birthday poem for you....
Jolee-Roly-Poly-Moley-Mae,
You are another year older today.
Actually for you it was yesterday
Because you live so very, very far away.
You have blonde hair, blue eyes, and are pretty cool.
We even went to all the same schools.
Though at the time I was annoyed to be perfect Jolee's little sis,
Today, without you, my life would be amiss.
I was going to write another verse,
But my ability to rhyme is getting worse.
So let me wrap it up and say,
I LOVE YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
