What a frustrating season this is going to be. We were out-coached for the second straight week, and I feel this is likely going to be the pattern once we get back into SEC action. Now I've obviously never played football, but even I could do a better job than what this coaching staff is doing. You know what? If the man-to-man defense isn't working, switch to the freakin' zone already!! If you have a quarterback who can't throw and receivers who can't catch it (likely because they're so shocked the ball actually got to them), then run it down their throats. Houston, we wanted you to pass the ball last year - when we had the All-American quarterback!! Not this year when our guy struggles to throw the ball more than 5 yards. Casey Dick is a good kid, but he's not a good quarterback. Surely there is someone else out there that can step up and take the reigns. And enough with the trick plays already! They're fine a couple of times a game, but not every other play. People are catching on...they're not really that tricky anymore.
The only bright spot about all this is that it's exposing what a weak coach Houston Nutt actually is. I was a fan when he first came to Arkansas, but I realized long ago he wasn't going to be the man to win us an SEC championship, much less a national championship. Last year was fun, but it was a fluke. D-Mac suprised everyone and no one knew how to defend him. But the surprise is over this year, folks. Nutt's job was saved by Matt Jones a couple of years ago and it was saved by D-Mac last year. And I fear that the last thing the new AD will want to do as his first official act is get rid of the football coach, so unfortunately we'll probably be stuck with him for another year. But at least more and more people are waking up to the fact that Nutt's tenure at Arkansas has run its course. It's time to thank him for his efforts and move on to bigger and better things.
I feel bad for all the players because they deserve better than what they're getting. It's a shame that one of the best players to ever wear an Arkansas uniform is wasted on this sorry excuse for a coaching staff.
Thanks for letting me vent! Who knows, maybe things will take a turn for the better, and I'll be forced to eat my words in a few months. And let me tell ya, I'll gladly do that in a second!

As I said on the last blog, I couldn't have said it better.
