I've already made my first political post and it just so happened to be about Hillary. I did not necessarily intend for my second political post to be about her, too, but that's the way it's shaking out. There is a really great write-up in the Chicago Tribune about her that I encourage y'all to check out. It's a bit lengthy, but worth the read. And I'm gonna send my apologies in advance because as the year rolls on, I'm probably going to have a lot more postings on the presidential election. It's fun, and I hope you'll humor me when I rant and rave.
Clinton: Most famous. Least known?

OH HAPPY DAY!!!
I cannot even begin to express how excited I am that Houston has resigned! Though some of my excitement has been tempered by how Arkansas fans were portrayed in the national news. I am so sick of the one-sided stories that everyone puts out there. One even said that a majority of fans didn't want him gone. Where'd the guy get this information? Every single person I know wanted him gone. I'm hard-pressed to think of one person that wanted him to stay. Now I know there were some out there, but there is absolutely no way that they were in the majority. Correction: I have just learned that I know one person who wanted him to stay, so for the purposes of full disclosure I feel that this should be made public. And while I think about it, my grandpa probably wanted him to stay, so let's say I know two people.
The bottom line is it was time for him to go. Houston did a lot of great things for the program. Then the warm fuzzies faded, and I realized he wasn't that great of a coach - he had gotten us as far as he was going to be able to. Then, things went down that made me question his integrity, which deeply broke my heart as I was always a personal fan of his. I know there are two sides to every story and it's not fair for me to pass judgment, so I am choosing to forgive and move on. Good luck, Houston! I wish you well wherever you end up!
So in summation...vote for Mel B or Helio, just not Marie!! PLEASE!!

WHAT?! WE WON!!!!
Did we really just beat the #1 team in America?! I am in utter disbelief! Why haven't we played that well all year? It almost makes the season that much more frustrating. Aarrghh. But instead of whining over what could have been, I'm going to relish the moment. Good job Hogs!
5 final thoughts:
1) What a way to end the season! Now we'll go to a better bowl game and hopefully win.
2) Darren McFadden is freakin' awesome, and I'm glad he got to showcase his stuff against the best team in the country.
3) That Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis aint half-bad either!
4) Good job, Houston! That was a great win to make you look much more desirable to other schools with open coaching positions. Good luck!
5) To the powers that be, please don't let this win fool you into a false sense of security and the need to keep Houston around. It's time to cut the cord!
Golden Boot, welcome back to Arkansas (say it with me, Ar-kun-SAW)!!

Fight On!
So I did the unthinkable when I moved to LA and became a USC fan. Out here, you're either a Trojan or a Bruin and there's no in between. Growing up, I was a UCLA fan and desperately wanted to go to school there. Then senior year of high school came and went and I got no response from them, not even a stupid application! Then their law school rejected me. So I came out here with the right attitude to become a Trojan fan. And low and behold I made a friend who went to USC and he easily converted me to a fan. So though I was devastated to learn that Damian and Mitch were no longer going to be wearing the most beautiful uniform on the planet, I found solace in the fact that they were coming out here to be with me in sunny LA! I look forward to the next three years of watching them play. As my old tax professor loved to say (especially to me after USC stomped Arkansas), FIGHT ON!!

God is good!
I've been in quite a funk the last few days. I don't know what brought it on, but I rarely do. It's just something that creeps up on me more often than I care to admit. So I did what I always do and broke out my Maple Street Worship cd. If you're unaware of Maple Street, it's the cd of the praise band at University Baptist in Fayetteville when I was in college. It is my absolute favorite!! It never fails to calm my heart and refocus me on what really matters. I awoke to a gorgeous day here in sunny LA and as I drove to work singing at the top of my lungs, I was reminded of the beauty of God's creation. It's nice to get a swift kick in the butt every once in awhile and be reminded of all the things I have to be thankful for.

My debut/finale all in one shot
I'm such a tease. I forgot that I put up a sneak peek! Ah well, hopefully not too many of you were waiting at the edge of your seat.
One of the brief jobs I had in the past year was a short two-week stint as the assistant to Gordon Ramsay on the LA portion of Kitchen Nightmares. As a lowly PA I was required to be a patron of one of the restaurants because they were having trouble filling it up. I also got a credit as a production assistant. So below are pics from my debut and finale on national television.

HEI5MAN!!
D-Mac's numbers were ridiculous! 323 yards!! I don't have much to say other than that kid can play! What a game. It makes me so happy to watch the Hogs play up to their potential. Although my feelings towards Nutt remain the same.
I like how the announcers called the disgruntled fans "childish." I was yelling at the TV. I agree that flying banners is a bit absurd, and I definitely don't support those antics. But those announcers didn't really study up on the situation. Their comments were very uninformed. Who are they to walk in on one game and say that Nutt is the best fit for Arkansas and he's an amazing coach and we're all idiots for wanting him gone?! Give me a break! We had one good game. Let's look at those other three we've lost. Let's look at the lack of anything resembling a passing game. Let's look at the inconsistency of the defense, especially the secondary. Let's look at the people he's run off. When you know the whole situation, then you can comment on it.
Alright, despite my rant, I was relatively pleased with the performance. We seemed to finally click on all cylinders (well, except the passing). And Houston seemed to call the right plays, so I'll give him credit. So I say a hearty congratulations to Houston and the boys...hopefully we can keep it up!
Finally, I'd like to post a little tribute to Frank Broyles. The man is a legend and his contributions to the University of Arkansas will not be forgotten. It's only fitting that the field be named in his honor. Thanks Frank for all you've done! Woo Pig!!
